PARK CITY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES GO MINERS ATHLETIC FOUNDATION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PARK CITY, UTAH (Feb. 25, 2026) — The newly created Go Miners Athletic Foundation, a parent-led organization designed to support Park City High School (PCHS) athletic programs, received approval from the Park City School Board to operate as a component unit of the Park City School District. School Board members voiced their approval in a unanimous vote at last night’s board meeting, Feb. 24, 2026.
“We are grateful for the support of the Park City School Board of Education whose partnership will have meaningful, long-standing impacts on our current and future student athletes,” said Go Miners Athletic Foundation President Jess McCurdy. “On behalf of all the parents, coaches, and community members who understand the essential value of investing in our community’s athletic programs so our student athletes and the high school community as a whole can thrive, we are excited to get to work.”
The Go Miners Athletic Foundation will work alongside the Park City School District to strengthen and sustain all PCHS athletic programs and facilities. The Foundation is led by a diverse Board of Directors made up of parents whose students span elementary, middle, and high school, and who collectively represent every sanctioned sport and organized club at PCHS.
To advance its mission, the group plans to launch a capital campaign to raise funds for completing the Park City Athletics Master Plan, which includes a dedicated indoor facility, as well as future facility improvement projects and maintenance. In an effort to reduce barriers to participation and ease the burden of independent team fundraising, the Foundation will coordinate and streamline efforts across teams while also raising additional funds through events and programs to support essential team needs and help reduce fees for families. Additionally, the Foundation will support communication channels to facilitate sharing of information about team schedules and scores, athletic news, and fundraising updates in an effort to enhance visibility across every sport.
"Athletics changed the trajectory of my life and I'm a firm believer that every student deserves the chance to pursue their athletic passions," stated Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman. "I'm thrilled to support the Go Miners Athletic Foundation and the role they'll play in providing coordinated support for our athletic programs and facilities at Park City High School."
The Go Miners Athletic Foundation is in the process of securing its 501(c)(3) status to operate as a nonprofit, allowing the organization to accept tax-deductible donations, apply for grants, and ensure transparency.
