Our Story

Go Miners Athletic Foundation (“Go Miners”) is a nonprofit organization established in 2025 by a group of Park City parents, with the support of Park City High School coaches and district and school leaders.

We are currently pursuing 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status as part of our commitment to building a strong, transparent, and sustainable foundation for the future of Park City athletics. Upon approval, contributions will be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

We are united by a shared belief: athletics play a critical role in student development and deserve coordinated, sustainable support—and here in Park City, we can do better.

Go Miners brings structure, coordination, and long-term investment to Park City High School athletics by organizing fundraising, investing in pride-inspiring shared facilities, and strengthening communication and community engagement. Through this work, we aim to reduce financial and time burdens on families and help ensure that every student has access to the life-changing power of sport and the opportunity to build a lasting Miner legacy.

MISSION

Strengthen and sustain Park City high school athletic programs and facilities so all students can participate, build life skills, celebrate school pride, and thrive in a healthy, connected school community.

VISION

We envision a Park City where every student feels supported to participate, compete, and grow in mind, body, and soul - on and off the field. Through athletic programs and facilities that reflect our community’s commitment to excellence and shared pride in sport, we aim to give our kids opportunities to thrive and succeed, build lasting connections between our schools and community, and carry forward Park City’s athletic legacy.

Why does Park City have funding gaps?

Athletic programs — and especially athletic facilities — are increasingly expensive, especially as fields, gyms, and equipment age and require upgrades. Although Park City generates significant property tax revenue, Utah’s school funding model determines per-student funding and redistributes anything additional to other schools statewide, leaving very little school budget available for athletics.

As a result, costs for transportation, equipment, officials, and facility upkeep, among many others, are paid through family fees and community fundraising, which until now, has been handled separately by each Park City High School team. And while Park City has made meaningful investments in recent upgrades to outdoor athletic fields, significant gaps still remain — including needed upgrades to indoor athletic facilities.

These funding and facility gaps limit our ability to deliver the level of athletic excellence that should be expected in Park City’s world-class sports community and the opportunities our student-athletes deserve.
