Go Miners Athletic Foundation partners with historic foundation
Go Miners Athletic Foundation is now a community partner of Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History.
Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History is working to engage a new generation of Park City residents in understanding, preserving, and carrying forward the town’s mining heritage.
For Go Miners, that mission has a natural connection to our student-athletes. We wear MINERS on our uniforms and cheer “Go Miners!” Understanding who the miners were, what they represented, and how their work shaped Park City gives today’s athletes a deeper connection to the name they carry.
This mutually beneficial partnership brings a new generation into the story of Park City’s mining heritage and helps today’s Miners understand, celebrate, and ultimately carry forward the history and legacy behind their name and their town.
Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History helps today’s Miners understand the legacy they have inherited; Go Miners helps connect that legacy to the generation that will carry it forward.
The two organizations will have an ongoing, mutually beneficial partnership that may include:
Student-athlete service projects to help maintain and improve historic landmarks and resources, including the Park City Historic Mine Route.
Two-way awareness activities that help each organization introduce its mission to new audiences and strengthen community engagement.
Shared fundraising or community-building opportunities when they support the missions of both organizations.
Educational opportunities that connect students with Park City’s mining history, historic sites, and longtime community members.
